How to Play Poker
Poker is a card game that’s enjoyed in almost every country where card games are played. While poker is a game of chance, it also has a lot of skill and psychology to it.

Before the cards are dealt, each player must put in an amount of money into a pool called the pot. This initial bet can be made in the form of antes, blinds or bring-ins.
After the initial betting round (the flop) is complete, three cards are placed on the table for all players to see. These are community cards, and can be combined with the cards in each player’s hand to make their strongest five-card poker hand.
When everyone’s hands are combined and the betting round is complete, another round of betting occurs – this time starting with the player sitting left of the dealer. This round of betting will continue until all the chips have been matched or all the players fold.
The player with the best five-card poker hand wins the pot, and is declared the winner of the game!
Some of the most common hands to look out for are straights and full houses. Straights are 5 consecutive cards, while a full house is 3 distinct pairs and a fifth card.
